What Are Tendoks?

The Sticks has pioneered a unique accommodation concept that bridges traditional Malaysian architecture with modern camping needs. Tendoks are essentially a cross between a tent and a pondok (traditional Malay hut), enabling a truly rustic living experience amidst nature without sacrificing basic comforts.

Each tendok has been given an easy-to-remember name, making it simple for guests to identify their jungle home. The Sticks offers various accommodation styles ranging from simple bamboo huts to rustic wooden bungalows and tent-style quarters, some with water access, en suite toilets, decks, and/or open-sided designs.

Full Board Retreat Experience

The Sticks operates as a full board retreat, meaning guests don’t have to worry about meals during their stay. All you have to do is kick back, relax, and enjoy the delicious servings of home-cooked food prepared with care. The communal dining experience creates a wonderful opportunity to meet fellow travelers and share stories of your jungle adventures.

• Kids aged 10+ years and below qualify for discounts of RM65 per child
• A refundable damage deposit of RM200 per room is required upon booking
• Advanced bookings (reservations made more than 3 days prior to check-in) are recommended
• All prices are subject to SST at the prevailing rate

• Ceiling fans and lights for basic comfort (no air-conditioning to maintain the jungle experience)
• Electric sockets for essential device charging only (no hair dryers as the facility is off-grid!)
• Towels and toiletries provided for overnight guests
• Comfortable duvets with beds for a good night’s sleep

River Experience

The river at The Sticks is one of its main attractions. The entrance features a shallow, shin-deep, broad section that’s perfect for children and families, while more exciting rapids can be found further downstream for those seeking bigger thrills.

The property provides tubes for tubing in the river, making it easy to enjoy the water features. A deposit of RM50 is required for each tube, which is fully refundable upon return.

Getting to The Sticks

By Car from Kuala Lumpur

The most convenient way to reach The Sticks is by driving. Simply key in ‘The Sticks’ into any navigation app (Google Maps, Waze, etc.) and you’ll be able to find your way there directly.

From KLIA Airport

If you’re traveling from out of the country:

• Recommended: Fly into KLIA and catch an Uber or Grab car from there (typically cheaper than transfers arranged by the resort)
• The car journey to or from the airport takes less than 2 hours without traffic

Public Transport Option (for the adventurous)

1. Take the KLIA Express from KLIA to KL Sentral
2. From KL Sentral, board a commuter KTM train to Kuala Kubu Bharu (KKB) KTM station
3. Check the train schedule for this particular route on Google Maps
4. From KKB KTM station, take a taxi to The Sticks (approximately RM35, 30-minute journey)
