Chongkak Park & Resort

A Natural Oasis in Hulu Langat

Nestled in a lush jungle valley 150 meters above sea level, Chongkak Park & Resort offers a refreshing escape from urban life. Located just an hour’s drive from Kuala Lumpur, this natural paradise centers around the pristine Sungai Chongkak, where crystal-clear waters rush over smooth boulders and create a perfect setting for nature lovers and adventure seekers.

The River Ecosystem

The main attraction of Chongkak Park is its beautiful stream system, which flows through dense tropical forest. The park is thoughtfully divided into 6 zones, each offering unique experiences along the water’s edge. A paved walking path meanders for about a kilometer alongside the stream, crossing it several times via small bridges that add to the scenic beauty.

Natural Features

  • Crystal-clear waters that flow over flat stream beds covered with gravel, boulders, and palm-sized pebbles
  • Yellow Saraca trees (Saraca thaipingensis) with their distinctive yellowish-green leaves and bright yellow flower clusters
  • Multiple tributaries that feed into the main stream, creating diverse water features
  • Natural pools formed by makeshift embankments, perfect for dipping and cooling off

During evening rainfalls, the park transforms into a mystical realm where visitors can feel like hermits living a reclusive life deep in the mountains. The misty forest scenery and the simple gratification of being separated from the outside world create an experience that’s both humbling and deeply satisfying.
